His research has shown that colour is the result of interaction between the white light with matter. Prism преломляла every ray of light, that is, after passing through the prism of the beam direction changed. But the prism not only преломляла sunlight and turn it to the divergent beam, made up of the same colors and in the same manner as that of a rainbow. Spectrum seen by Newton, included seven primary colors - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet - together with the clear-cut boundary between them was not (fig. 1.1). Sunny color of a prism decomposes on spectral rays from red to violet. Invisible infra-red and ultra-violet areas are further outside of the spectrum, which is able to distinguish the human eye.
